Things with Wings

Hi there, started making this card yesterday afternoon and was playing around with different butterflies that I had in my stash and even though I don't like crafting at night time I actually went ahead and found some nice subtle paper for the background from the Mariposa DCWV mini stack and it all evolved from there really!  I had a gold-embossed butterfly which I had fussy-cut and then I ran out of steam LOL!

But this morning driving to work the rest of the inspiration struck so couldn't wait to get home to finish it and here is the result - which I really like :>

I made this for the Things with Wings challenge over at Creative Corner.

365 Cards day 307 - Cherry Cobbler birthday card

I had thought of sending the Teal birthday card to mum but then decided this morning to make her another one, just hoping she doesn't find it too dark!

I suddenly realised last night that I had not sent her a card yet and her birthday is on the 20th of this month, hope the post between here and Chile is super fast this time!

I chose the sparkly butterfly DCWV background paper as she used to love looking through that stack when she visited last year, hope she recognises it!

Made for the following challenges:
365 Cards Sketchy Sunday
Friday Mashup {my first time for this one} - make it sparkle {check out the sparkly butterfly paper!}

Teal birthday

Have been rather busy these last few days but today managed to make this card for the 365 Cards challenge, "Feeling blue-green".

When my mum was visiting she bought a DCWV stack and I got lucky and grabbed a couple off her before she left - lighten the luggage so to speak!

And actually it's her birthday next month so I might just send it to her!  Love that paper with all the glitter on it.

Embellishing bows

The name of this blog has really come to life these last two days with strong, persistent winds and I'm getting a  bit sick of it to tell the truth!  I guess they don't call it 'Windy Wellington' for nothing!  But this year we've been spoilt with very very little wind, a very mild wet, SNOW for the first time in donkeys' years, and the wettest October since the Captain Cook sailed into harbour all those years ago (that's 'poetic licence' by the way, it just has been rather wet underfoot lately...)

Any anyway on the bright side - we won the Rugby World Cup at the weekend - wohoo!!

Back to crafting:

I loved trying out securing a ribbon bow with a brad, once I figured out how to do it, it was quite easy really, and looks so effective!

Embellish your bows it what 365 Cards asks us to do today so I've embellished it with the brad and the lovely golden background paper, the bow wouldn't look quite the same on a plain background - and I'm aware I am pushing the boundaries just a little here! (They are asking for two embellishments...)

What I used:

A selection of Stampin' Up and DCWV papers and cardstock, SU ribbon, brad, stampset and ink.
