"Little girl on a swing"

Have had a good day today here at home, trying to channel my energies into creative stuff so decided to play along with 365 Cards once again.  Don't know whether I'll play along everyday though lately it does seem to be the case - anyway here goes!

Stampin' Up!: Beautiful Wings Embosslits die, A Kind Word stamp set [retired],  Boho Blossoms punch, Scalloped Border punch. Tea Party DSP [retired], Melon Mambo and So Saffron card.
Fiskars: 1/4" circle punch, paper cutter and oval template.
Other: Watercolour paper, grey card.

Pumpkins definitely on the menu for this Recipe Challenge!

365 Cards - Day 241 challenge.

I like to re-cycle things for my cards whenever I can and it is appropriate - as you can see I cut the background shape from an old card back - it embossed really well and the card is kind of glossy so that's nice, and the logo in the middle was covered by my punch art - why don't you give it a go?  (The card fronts were sent to kindergarten for the children to do artwork with them as well.)

No room for a sentiment on the first card, but I did manage to incorporate on in the second card.

I don't have any stamps or papers with Halloween images so I had to make my own pumpkins with punches.

So here is the Recipe

4x4" Card
2 Patterned Papers
Ribbon
Glitter
Halloween or Fall Theme
Sentiment of your choice

I got a bit ahead of myself yesterday LOL

So over at 365 Cards yesterday the theme was 'technology" so I uploaded a card of a rocket - all very well except that today the challenge is "starry skies"!!!  So here is another rocket card LOL - sorry about that!  This one was requested by my 4 year old who wanted a rocket to 'move' and a full moon, and stars...

Technology challenge - rockets away!

The first human may have stepped onto the moon back in the 60s but space exploration is by no means over so for today's 365 Cards 'technology' card I have a punch-art rocket to share with you!

I had so much fun making this card, got some ideas from Splitcoast Stampers and love how it turned out.

White space - or pale green in this case

365 Cards is asking for us to leave some white space on our cards for this particular challenge - I flipped the sketch so I hope this is okay!

For this card I used a couple of Stampin' Up! stamp sets, the paper is from Basic Grey and can't quite remember where I got the felt scroll from!

365 Cards - Everyday card

The challenge over at 365 Cards yesterday was to make a card suitable for almost any occasion, not specifically birthday, get well, thanks etc - so here goes - and will post this off to my mum and she is always in my thoughts!

What I used:

SU Rich Razzleberry, Very Vanilla, Old Olive card, inks and a lovely retired set called Organic Grace!

Embellishing bows

The name of this blog has really come to life these last two days with strong, persistent winds and I'm getting a  bit sick of it to tell the truth!  I guess they don't call it 'Windy Wellington' for nothing!  But this year we've been spoilt with very very little wind, a very mild wet, SNOW for the first time in donkeys' years, and the wettest October since the Captain Cook sailed into harbour all those years ago (that's 'poetic licence' by the way, it just has been rather wet underfoot lately...)

Any anyway on the bright side - we won the Rugby World Cup at the weekend - wohoo!!

Back to crafting:

I loved trying out securing a ribbon bow with a brad, once I figured out how to do it, it was quite easy really, and looks so effective!

Embellish your bows it what 365 Cards asks us to do today so I've embellished it with the brad and the lovely golden background paper, the bow wouldn't look quite the same on a plain background - and I'm aware I am pushing the boundaries just a little here! (They are asking for two embellishments...)

What I used:

A selection of Stampin' Up and DCWV papers and cardstock, SU ribbon, brad, stampset and ink.

Trying out the embossing resist technique.

I have a rather large list of blogs I 'follow' which means I don't really get to see them that often but last night I came across a challenge on a blog called '365 cards' which is basically a new challenge every day of the week... this card is for day 235 - I wonder what happens on leap-year!  Maybe it becomes '366 cards' for that year LOL!

It was all about using three pieces of polka-dot paper and that was pretty much the only rule - the challenge was posted a couple of days ago but I think you have one week from when it is posted to upload your card and then the link closes - at least I hope so.

I really enjoyed trying out this technique of embossing a stamped image with clear embossing powder, then gently sponging over it with a colour to bring out the details - I did find it distorted the paper a little so decided to sew them down which worked well.

What I used:

Stamp sets: Petal Pizzazz, Wonderful Favourites (both Stampin' Up!)

Cards and papers:  Very Vanilla (SU), all others from my stash.

Clear embossing powder (SU), Crumb Cake Classic ink pad, sponges, Boho Blossoms punch, rhinestone brad, sewing machine, Stamp-a-ma-jig (SU).
